JLR has issued a recall of thousands of Range Rover SUVs built in the prior decade because of a front suspension issue.
The recall affects certain Range Rovers from the 2014-2016 model years, of which 16,759 examples are in the U.S.
According to the recall notice published by the NHTSA on Nov. 7 (recall campaign number 24V840000), the front suspension upper knuckle joint on the affected SUVs may crack. That could result in a suspension arm detaching, which could lead to a loss of vehicle control.
JLR said it isn’t aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue.

The remedy requires a dealer to inspect the front suspension and, where necessary, either install a retaining bracket or replace the knuckle. The procedure will be provided free of charge.
