<br /> $3M Koenigsegg And $27K Buick Have An Expensive Accident | Carscoops

It’s unclear what led up to the accident but it seems like a low-speed contact that probably didn’t cause much damage

$3M Koenigsegg And $27K Buick Have An Expensive Accident

  • A Buick and a Koenigsegg Agera came together in a fender bender in China.
  • The Buick in question appears to be a Verano worth around $27,000 when new.
  • The Koenigsegg Agera R is likely worth about $3 million even after this crash.

Accidents happen all of the time. Some are avoidable, others aren’t, but far more often than not, they fail to be newsworthy. Involved parties swap insurance paperwork and move on without anyone noticing. That’s not the case here though because one of them is a Koenigsegg Agera R valued north of $3 million bucks.

The phrase ‘fender bender’ might apply to no other accident as well as it does to this one. A video showing the contact between the cars shows that they are just slightly touching. The front passenger quarter panel of the Agera is brushed up against the driver’s door of the Buick just behind the front wheel.

The video begins and ends with the cars in a static position so there’s no clue as to how they got into this predicament. There’s also no visible damage to either car so there are no clues about who hit who. It’s plausible that the Buick driver didn’t even see the Agera and came over into the adjacent lane. After all, the roof of the hypercar is lower than the window sill in the sedan.

Regardless, the insurance companies dealing with all of this will have an interesting time sorting out the details. The Agera R appears to be what Koenigsegg enthusiasts refer to as #7096 or “King”. That’s right, every Koenigsegg has its own name. It would make sense that this is indeed the same car as the King was originally delivered to China in 2013. We can’t be totally sure, but it seems as though this is the same car.

In addition, it’s the only Agera R with matte white paint and light blue accents along with light blue leather in the cabin. It’s tough to place an exact value on cars like this but one available for sale in the UK has an asking price of $3,674,044. No doubt, things like its carbon fiber body and twin-turbocharged V8 with some 1,124 horsepower (826 kW) have something to do with that figure.
