Missouri Cop Makes First Contact With UFO On Its Way To Roswell

  • A Missouri police officer made a traffic stop unlike any other – pulling over a UFO-shaped vehicle.
  • The flying saucer was driving on the highway on its way to a UFO festival in New Mexico.
  • Built by a man from Indiana, the unique ride started life as a humble Geo Metro.

It was an exciting day at work for a sheriff’s deputy in Missouri, who spotted a flying saucer cruising down the highway. Naturally, the vehicle was pulled over for an inspection, giving the officer a chance to snap some photos with it.

The unconventional car spotting took place in Crawford County. The vehicle, looking suspiciously like Rick and Morty’s interdimensional cruiser, was apparently en route to a UFO festival in Roswell, New Mexico. Let’s just say the officer’s typical traffic check procedure went out the window (maybe hoping for a ride-along to another dimension?), as his main objective became meeting the ‘aliens’ in person.

According to a humorous post on the Facebook page of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the ‘humanoids’ inside the vehicle were identified as ‘friendly’ and assured they ‘come in peace.’ The officer had a brief conversation with the owner about his ‘out-of-space’ registration, which will reportedly be taken care of when the vehicle returns to ‘Krypton.’

The unofficial police report also mentions that the aliens were warned about “our strict enforcement of warp speed on the interstate and to keep his phasers on stun only while traveling”, before allowing them to continue their journey on Earth.

As noted by commenters on social media, the street-legal flying saucer was built years ago by Steve Anderson, a mechanic and actor from Indianapolis, Indiana.

The driveable UFO is based on a Geo Metro, retaining the original 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine mated to an automatic gearbox. Despite the humble underpinnings, the custom body is shaped after a flying saucer, with a bubble canopy that makes the Tesla Cybertruck look conventional.

In a 9-year-old video uploaded on YouTube by Indianapolis media WTHR 13 News, the owner of the UFO says he enjoys being at the center of attention, as everyone stops to check out his unique ride. It is safe to assume that this wasn’t the first time he got pulled over by police. We hope he will keep driving his extraterrestrial Geo Metro for years to come.
