<br /> Carjacking Suspects In San Fransisco Launch Lincoln Off Dead End In GTA-Like Escape | Carscoops

The Lincoln Town Car landed on its roof but was slowed down by a tree which likely prevented injuries

San Fransisco residents couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw a white vehicle launching from a dead end and flying in the air before landing upside down on the street. Even more impressive is the fact that all occupants of the vehicle escaped injuries and walked away before authorities arrived at the scene.

The incident occurred at 7:18 p.m. on Saturday and was caught on tape by various home security cameras. What appears to be a white Lincoln Town Car can be seen driving down Cumberland Street without slowing down or stopping at the dead end. As a result, the sedan breaks the barriers and jumps into the void. Thankfully, a tree was on its course slowing it down before it landed on its roof at Sanchez Street and 19th Street.

A few moments later and as the car is still resting on its roof with people rushing to help, passengers start coming out and fleeing the scene miraculously unharmed. In the video uploaded on Twitter by user @blueyannon, we can see at least three people getting out of the car with the help of bystanders before they rush on the stairs.

Witnesses confirmed that all the vehicle’s occupants fled the scene before police officers and firefighters arrived. According to the San Fransisco Fire Department, there were no reported injuries despite the severity of the crash. The Lincoln on the other hand is most likely totaled, while a previous-gen BMW X3 that was parked on the spot was hit too. Furthermore, the take-off and landing spots will probably need some repairs.

A report from KTVU Fox10 stated that the incident allegedly began with a carjacking, potentially explaining the suspects’ urgency to flee and avoid arrest. Some individuals likened the daring jump to a scene from the Dukes of Hazzard, while others mentioned performing similar stunts in the Grand Theft Auto video game. However, no one could have foreseen that such a reckless act would occur in real life without causing any injuries.

Replying to the many media outlets calling about this:

This was a non-injury collision occurring last night at 7:18 PM.

When Truck 7 #SFFDT07 arrived witnesses stated that: “all the occupants fled the scene”
