Converting The Dacia Jogger Into A Budget Four-Seater Limo

by Thanos Pappas

The Dacia Jogger is one of the cheapest seven-seaters in the European and the UK market (from £17,145 / $20,363) , combining crossover looks with minivan levels of practicality. The optional three-row layout of the Romanian model has more customization options than you’d think, prompting us to convert it into a four-seater limo for those who prioritize rear legroom but are on a tight budget.

After spending some time with a Jogger press car, we are pleased to confirm that all of its seven seats are adult-friendly. However, while headroom is more than adequate for everyone, third-row passengers have limited legroom. Thankfully, there is a way to correct this as proven by the video below.

The second-row seats of the Dacia Jogger are able to fold forwards in order to provide easy access to the third-row seats. During this process, I noticed that if you keep both sides of the 2+1 split rear bench folded, then you get limo-levels of legroom and a great panoramic view of the cabin. Combined with third-row amenities like the armrests, cupholders, power plug, fold-our rear windows, and the higher seating position made this my favorite place to sit in the Jogger.

The modularity of the cabin comes in handy when you have a large family. The very tight boot space of 160 lt (5.7 cubic feet) might be an issue with all seven seats in place, but if you carry fewer people you can easily fold and completely remove the rear seats, creating a large loading area. A five-seater layout results in a generous 696 lt (24.6 cubic feet) boot, while if you use the Jogger as a two-seater you get a van-like capacity of 1,807 lt (63.8 cubic feet). Of course, there are plenty of in-between options, as you can play around with over 60 combinations of seating layouts.

Besides our cheap DIY limo conversion of the Jogger, Dacia is offering a very cool “Sleep Pack” accessory that is compatible with all trims. This €1,490 ($1,589) factory-fit option – or €1,790 ($1,909) when purchased separately – includes a double mattress that slides out on a wooden shelf above the second-row seatbacks and a storage box with a capacity of 220 lt (7.8 cubic feet). Thankfully, the Sleep Pack is also removable so you don’t permanently compromise the vehicle’s practicality. Finally, we shouldn’t forget to mention the rear tent extension which creates more room for activities at the back of the camper.
