The Chiron Super Sport and Chiron Pur Sport were part of a multi-car parade in the Bugatti Grand Tour Morocco 2024

  • A crash involving two Bugatti Chirons and a truck occurred during the 2024 Morocco tour.
  • One Bugatti was severely damaged, while the truck flipped over after trying to avoid the accident.
  • The hypercars were part of a tour showcasing Bugatti models through Morocco’s scenic roads.

The Bugatti Grand Tour Morocco took a turn for the predictably unpredictable when two Chirons, piloted by drivers presumably overconfident in both their bank accounts and their driving skills, somehow managed to crash into each other during an overtaking maneuver. It’s almost as if throwing millions of dollars at a car doesn’t automatically make you a professional driver.

The incident took place on Monday, October 21, on the main road connecting Tangier and Tetouan in Morocco. A video, now circulating on Reddit and spotted by The Supercar Blog, captures a trio of Bugattis overtaking a lumbering bus, just moments before the accident. For those unfamiliar with this road, overtaking isn’t exactly for the faint of heart—especially when you’re behind the wheel of a seven-figure hypercar.

The silver Chiron Super Sport, clearly not content with just overtaking the bus, attempts to pass both the white Chiron in front and a truck on a narrow, single-lane road. Meanwhile, the driver of the white Chiron Pur Sport has the same brilliant idea and also moves to overtake the truck. The result? A hypercar pile-up that no amount of carbon fiber can prevent.

The silver Chiron Super Sport spins out dramatically before finding itself in a ditch, while the white Chiron Pur Sport remains on the road, albeit not in the way the driver imagined. The truck driver, trying to avoid this ballet of Bugatti buffoonery, flips his rig on its side.

Photos of the aftermath were shared by local media Tanjaoui.ma, showing the extent of the damage. The Chiron Super Sport took the brunt of it, with its front bumper, hood, and grille in tatters—and that’s just the visible damage. The underbody probably didn’t fare much better. The Pur Sport? It’s not as bad off, but those scratches aren’t going to be cheap, and neither is the ego repair.

The Bugatti occupants reportedly escaped without any injuries, but the condition of the truck driver, however, remains unknown. Hopefully, he is fine and will get some kind of reimbursement for the truck. As for the Bugatti owners, they probably have more than enough to cover the high bill for the repairs.

Reports suggest 12 hypercars participated in the Bugatti Grand Tour Morocco 2024, with videos on social media showing a parade of multi-million-dollar excess, including examples of the Veyron Vitesse, Chiron, Chiron Pur Sport, Chiron Super Sport, and Chiron Super Sport 300+.

Mate Rimac, the CEO of Bugatti Rimac, was also present at the event, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of Morocco. Judging from his Instagram stories, he also drives a Chiron, featuring the Croatian flag on its mirrors. At the time of writing, he hasn’t mentioned anything about the crash.
