Influencer’s Brand New Lamborghini Revuelto Burns To The Ground After Only 108 Miles

  • Ethan Duran’s Lamborghini Revuelto caught fire while driving on a New York highway.
  • The supercar was just a week old with only 108 miles on the odometer when it went up in flames.
  • The cause of the fire remains unknown, but Duran reported seeing flames from the rear.

Well, that didn’t take long. Lamborghini’s latest and greatest V12 supercar offers extraordinary levels of performance and all of the panache and excitement you’d expect from the Raging Bull. However, the number of Revueltos on the roads has been reduced by one after a freshly-delivered example caught fire on a New York City highway.

The car in question is owned by Ethan Duran, an influencer behind Corsa Auto Group, a company that rents out exotics in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Boston. Duran ordered the Revuelto in September last year and took delivery of it earlier this month. Unfortunately, it caught fire just a week after Duran picked up the keys and with just 108 miles (174 km) on the clock.

It’s unclear how the fire started. Speaking on Instagram, the owner says he noticed flames coming out of the car’s rear and immediately pulled over. Before long, the entire supercar was engulfed in flames.

Fire crews responded to the scene, but could not extinguish the flames before the entire car was ruined. Duran filmed part of the fire and recorded a few small explosions, describing the scene as “insane” while watching his new purchase melt to the ground.

This is the first known case of a Revuelto catching fire. Its predecessor, the Aventador, was recalled in early 2017 after it was discovered a defective evaporative-emission system could allow gasoline to soak through a charcoal filter and into the purge valves, causing excess fuel vapors to come into contact with hot exhaust gases.

There’s not yet any indication that the Revuelto is as prone to catching fire as the Aventador, but we suspect this incident may make some owners nervous, as a brand new car driven just 108 miles should not erupt in flames.
