Road Raging Range Rover Driver Crashes After Flipping Off Motorist

  • A Range Rover driver navigating heavy traffic let their temper get the better of them.
  • While angrily gesturing at another motorist they lost control of their car and caused a huge crash.
  • At first, he lied to the police about what had happened, but the entire incident was caught on a Tesla’s dashcam.

Driving in traffic can be stressful but it’s something that most of us have to do on a regular basis. Managing one’s emotions during such a drive is a key component of getting to our destination safely. One Range Rover driver just learned that in one of the hardest ways possible after an instant-karma-style crash.

Video from a Tesla Model S involved in the crash shows the Range Rover driver moving aggressively. He tailgates multiple vehicles, changes lanes abruptly, and doesn’t use turn signals either. At one stage he becomes upset about a Volvo SUV camped out in the left lane.

As the Range Rover driver goes to pass the Volvo in lane two he gives its driver the bird and nearly crashes into the Tesla recording the incident as it moves along in lane three. It appears as though he soon loses control though as moments later, he hits a Honda in lane two and then clips the front of the Tesla in lane three.

Forward-facing video from the Model S shows the Range Rover nearly roll all the way over but it lands back on its tires after briefly sitting on its driver’s side. All of the airbags are deployed and pieces of the cars involved in the accident sit strewn across the road. According to the description of Wham Baam Teslacam on the YouTube video, the Range Rover driver initially lied to police about the whole interaction.

Evidently, he told officers that it was the Volvo that hit him before running. It wasn’t until the Tesla owner retrieved this footage that they could prove what really happened. Ultimately, this crash is a great reminder of a few important things. First, be calm and courteous on the road. Getting this upset certainly isn’t worth this sort of outcome for anyone.

Secondly, never forget that dashcams, both aftermarket and integrated versions, can be prove to be very useful. If someone gets involved in an accident and the other driver denies it’s their fault, as was the case here, having the video to prove what exactly happened will help set the record straight with the police and insurance companies.
