Tiny Rolls-Royce And Maybach Clones Are The Cutest Things You’ll See Today

  • Two miniature Rolls-Royce Phantom and Mercedes-Maybach GLS models were spotted in China.
  • These tiny knock-off vehicles are likely low-speed electric models priced at approximately $2,000.
  • Despite the low price, they include luxurious features such as leather seats and ambient lighting.

Chinese cars have come a long way in the past five years, with a significant uptick in build quality, design, and technology. However, there remain plenty of weird and wacky cars in China, and these miniature versions of the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Mercedes-Maybach GLS are among the most curious.

We recently stumbled across photos of the two cars while browsing Chinese social media platform Weibo. The duo appear to have been recently displayed at a small car event in the country and can be seen positioned alongside a fleet of other tiny four-wheelers, akin to Japan’s kei cars.

The mini Phantom is perhaps the most intriguing. Just like a genuine Rolls-Royce, the tiny car sports a large front grille with a chrome finish, although it lacks the famous Spirit of Ecstasy. Positioned on either side of the grille are headlights similar in shape to those of the Phantom, but the blue glow of the bulbs does make them look cheap. A set of small LED daytime running lights have also been fitted.

The sides of the car also take some inspiration from the Phantom. This is most evident with the front and rear door handles that connect with each other. There are even rear suicide doors.

Curiously, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS replica appears to be the same car as the Phantom, albeit with a different front fascia. Gone is the Rolls-Royce grille, and in its place sits an even larger chrome one, just like a Maybach. There are new headlights, intakes, and chrome accents on the front bumper.

In news that won’t shock anyone, the interiors of the duo are nowhere near as plush as a Rolls-Royce or Mercedes. However, they’re not super basic, either. A single display incorporates the infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster, while there’s also an ambient light system and circular air vents, clearly inspired by the ones used by Mercedes.

We don’t have any powertrain details about the cars, but they are reportedly available for just 14,000 yuan each, or a touch under $2,000.
