Cadillac Driver Turns Escalade Into Battering Ram, Smashes Six Cars In New York

  • A Cadillac Escalade driver in New York appears to have intentionally crashed into several cars.
  • It’s unclear what motive the driver had for the behavior.
  • They caused thousands of dollars of damage in a very short time.

Driving can be frustrating sometimes to the point where we just want to tap someone with our cars. It’s a primal urge we’ve all felt bubbling beneath the surface — that fleeting moment where fantasies of a gentle fender kiss morph into visions of full-on demolition derby.

Thankfully, most of us manage to keep those vehicular vendettas firmly in the realm of dark humor. But for one New Yorker cruising in a late-model Cadillac Escalade, apparently, the line between fantasy and reality blurred a little too much.

The incident happened near the intersection of 162nd St and Northern Blvd in Flushing, NY. By the time bystanders began capturing the situation, the Cadillac Escalade driver had clearly hit at least one car already. The large SUV had enough damage that the front bumper was barely hanging on and the grille was in pieces.

In the first moments, the Cadillac driver backs up and who knows what would’ve happened if they’d just stopped right then? Instead, they charge forward and smash into the same car a second time. Two times could be a freak accident but things don’t end there. The driver again reverses before turning into the same car again. At this point, the impact has forced a domino effect of damage.

A Mazda3, the initially impacted car, hits a Mercedes, which then hits a Chevrolet that smacks a Hyundai. As a Cadillac passes most of these cars, it briefly hits the Hyundai and barrels into a Prius, which in turn hits a Lexus. That’s seven different vehicles damaged, perhaps beyond repair in some cases, in the span of just 20 seconds.

There’s no telling why this happened, who the driver is, or what consequences they’ll face now though. It’s clear from the video that bystanders on both sides of the street had cameras rolling. Hopefully, authorities will find the driver and hold them accountable. As of this writing, there are no official sources with additional information about the incident.

We’ve reached out to several in various comment sections who report being there and we’ll update this piece if we learn more about the situation.
