Tesla FSD free transfer relaunches this summer

Tesla’s FSD (Full Self-Driving) free transfer promo has been relaunched this summer. It applies to new deliveries of the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y between June 24 and August 31, 2024.

During the 2024 Annual Stockholder Meeting earlier this month, Elon Musk extended Tesla’s FSD free transfer promo for another quarter after an investor asked if the company would make it permanent. The current relaunch of the promo is Elon Musk following through with his words at the meeting.

Tesla’s FSD free transfer can be added to other incentives. For instance, the Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD and Performance AWD qualify for the Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRA) $7,500 federal tax credit. Customers may transfer FSD to their new Model 3 Long Range or Performance and still receive the $7,500 tax credit.

Full Self-Driving capability currently costs an additional $8,000. Tesla offers a 30-day free trial of FSD to customers who purchase new vehicles. Drivers will receive the following features with FSD:

  • Navigate on Autopilot
  • Auto Lane Change
  • Autopark
  • Summon
  • Smart Summon
  • Autosteer on city streets
  • Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control
