Stay At Fuji Speedway Hotel And You Can Test Drive A Toyota Supra

Guests staying at the Fuji Speedway Hotel in Japan can jump behind the wheel of a Toyota Supra thanks to a partnership between the car company and the world-famous racetrack.

Management at the hotel has announced that those who stay in a suite or a villa can head out onto local roads for an hour in one of two Supra models between January 15, 2024, and June 30, 2024. One of these models is equipped with the car’s standard 8-speed automatic transmission and is a one-off that the hotel has created with Tom’s Racing. It says the car has been tuned but hasn’t specified what modifications it has received.

The second Supra available is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. Both cars are fitted with the latest performance tires from Michelin and five one-hour test drives will be conducted each day between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. While drivers will not be able to head out onto the racetrack itself, there are plenty of nice driving roads around the area.

But wait, there’s more

In separate news, Fuji Speedway will also host a special ‘Supra Winter Festival’ between January 21 and 22. Attendees won’t just be able to test out the current A90-generation Supra but also have the opportunity to drive a 1985 Celica XX 2000GT, a 1991 Supra 2.5GT Twin Turbo Aerotop, and an A80 Supra. Test drivers during this event will be limited to 30 minutes.

For those not planning a trip to Japan next year, there’s still plenty to look forward to in the world of the Toyota Supra. Not only is the car manufacturer hard at work developing a more track-focused variant, potentially dubbed the GRMN, but it has also apparently started work in the next-generation model that could launch as soon as 2025. According to the most recent reports, Toyota will initially sell the new Supra with an internal combustion engine but later expand the range to include a battery-electric version.
