The Urus driver survived crashing into a subway support but his 20-year-old female passenger died on scene

Police are questioning a young driver after he was at the helm of a Lamborghini Urus involved in a deadly crash overnight. Authorities say that he first hit an elevated subway platform before also hitting another car. The green Lamborghini caught fire and his passenger reportedly didn’t make it out alive.
Authorities say the crash happened on Monday evening on 10th Ave in Manhattan near 213th St. At least one bystander caught video of the scene after the Italian super SUV burst into flames. At least one report claims that police were actually in the process of pulling the Urus over when the accident occurred.
According to the NY Post, citing police sources, the driver “ran a red light shortly after 10 p.m.” and then “NYPD officers put their lights on to pull over the driver, but he took off” before crashing with “cops hot on his trail.”

The 23-year-old driver whose name hasn’t been released, is now in police custody. His 20-year-old passenger, identified as Tiana Rodriguez, died on scene according to police. The driver of the Hyundai Elantra, a 37-year-old man, is in stable condition after initially going to the hospital due to his injuries.
Mangled remains of the Lamborghini were all that was left after the fire finally went out. The video shows the husk of the car on a flatbed tow truck. It’s unrecognizable as anything more than the skeleton of an SUV. Police are unsure of why the accident happened, so the investigation is ongoing according to ABC7.
