This Destroyed McLaren Artura Is A Very, Very Sad Sight

The launch of the McLaren Artura got off to a very shaky start, meaning customers had to wait a lot longer to take delivery than initially expected. Unfortunately, this particular Artura has already been completely destroyed in what looks to have been one very serious crash.

Details about the incident that led to the demise of this Artura aren’t known, but it has clearly suffered terminal damage and will never return to the roads. Indeed, there’s a strong possibility that many of the more expensive parts, like the engine, may have also been damaged in the crash.

Most of the damage that is visible is spread across the passenger side of the supercar. The door has been completely mangled, the rear quarter panel crushed, and the entire rear wheel and hub thrown from the McLaren. The rear end of the car has also suffered a big hit and we can see that the carbon fiber roof has also been badly dented, leading us to believe that the car probably flipped in the crash. This would also explain why not only the passenger side rear quarter panel has been crushed but why the driver’s side one has been flattened also.

Surprisingly, the driver’s side door, wing mirror, and skirts appear to have escaped without much damage at all but some scraps are visible on the black wheels.

The IAAI listing notes that the car has a salvage title in Georgia and that it crashed with just 1,786 miles (2,874 km) on the clock. An image showing the digital instrument cluster reveals that at least some of the electronics still work but does state there is a ‘hybrid system fault.’ The interior appears largely free of damage, meaning parts like the seats, dashboard, steering wheel, instrument cluster, and infotainment display can probably be saved and sold or used as spare parts.
