Mustang Leaves Car Meet: Guess What Happens Next

The Ford Mustang might go down as the very last of the American V8 muscle cars to exist. What’s unquestionable is that its drivers will certainly go down as some of the most accident-prone. This comically avoidable crash involving one such pony car and a light pole is a perfect example why.

According to the post, this video comes to us from New Horizon Mall in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. That establishment is the location for a regular car show every hump day dubbed Wild Wednesday. The timing seems to line up that this video comes to us from that event on August 16th, 2023.

The video isn’t too dissimilar from other Mustang crash videos that we’ve seen. This time around, the 6th-gen Mustang in question seems like it’s made a clean getaway. From what we can hear in the audio, it even sounds as though it’s clearly made it through the first gear without issue.

More: Maybe A Pole Will Knock Some Sense Into This Ford Mustang Driver

It seems to be that as the driver swaps to the second cog that he or she begins to go beyond their own personal performance envelope. It’s at that time during the video that the Ford seems to shift toward a right-ward trajectory that just so happens to include an intercept course with a light pole.

Despite what feels like an eternity to avoid said light pole, the driver and the Mustang seem drawn to it like a moth to the flame. The crash ends up being violent enough that the Mustang ends up on a flatbed tow truck as opposed to finding a way to limp home.

Hilariously enough, the local tow truck company, Lift King, was quite prepared for the situation. It both placed and then photographed a sign in front of the disabled Ford that reads “I love burnouts as much as you but please do it somewhere else.” That’s solid advice that we wish we could share with every Mustang driver leaving every car meet everywhere.
