It’s hard to imagine a scenario worse than crashing through the building you work at, especially if you’re a driving instructor

In what can only be described as a branding disaster, a driving instructor now faces the great embarrassment of having driven through the front of a building. To make matters worse, they drove into the community driving school that employs them.
A photo of the accident was shared by the Lakewood, Colorado, police department, which stated that only one minor injury occurred as a result of the accident. No word how big the injuries were to the driver’s ego, but if you’re going to screw up, it might as well be under a massive sign that points out the irony.
Police did not reveal who suffered injury, but it sounds like the incident was likely pretty scary for a moment. They claimed on Twitter that “several people were able to dive out of harms way” as the car barreled towards them.

The incident happened while the driver was attempting to park the Hyundai Tucson pictured above, reports 9news. Things appear to have gone off the rails pretty quickly, as the photo of the aftermath shows most of the car inside the building.
Whether this was a case of pedal confusion causing the car to leap into the building, or of the driver carrying too much speed as they were attempting to park, remains unknown. However, a look on Google street view reveals that the driving school is located deep within a strip mall, and not particularly close to the road, making the former seem more likely.
Either way, police handed the driver a citation for a traffic violation. It’s unclear how the business will respond to the employee’s error, but it’s hard to imagine a more specifically catastrophic mistake than this one.
