Fisker made a big splash today during its Product Vision Day 2023 event by revealing not one, but four new electric vehicles.
The automaker just live-streamed the reveal of its new Ronin flagship electric supercar, which is expected to go up to 600 miles on a single charge. Additionally, Fisker revealed the Pear compact electric hatchback, an Ocean-based Alaska pickup truck, and also shared details about its new supercomputer.
The most exciting reveal was arguably the Pear, which is an abbreviation for “Personal Electric Automotive Revolution.” CEO Henrik Fisker stated that the compact EV will start at $29,000 and will be eligible for federal incentives, which would drop the price further, to $22,400 dollars.
The US-made EV sits on the SLV1 platform, which is another abbreviation for simple, versatile, and volume. It’s a “steel plus plus” platform, which uses 35 percent fewer parts. Although don’t expect the quirky-looking compact EV to appear on the roads yet. Fisker said the launch timeline is mid-2025.
Addressing the crowd, Fisker said that the Pear is aimed towards “digital natives” who are looking for an affordable electric utility vehicle. A key design feature of the Pear is what the brand calls the “Houdini trunk,” whose opening mechanism is unlike anything we’ve seen previously – it rolls down and disappears into the rear bumper.
That said, the Pear will be offered in six-seat and five-seat configurations, with the former getting a bench seat upfront to sit three abreast.
