The only excuse we can think of is that the wrap was applied during a storm

Porsche Cayenne Gets Wrapped In An Unworldly Manner

If you own an older beat-up vehicle, one of the cheapest options to rejuvenate its appearance is to have it wrapped. While professionals make the job seem too easy in various online videos, the DIY wrapping process of the pictured first-gen Porsche Cayenne resulted in a nightmare.

We don’t want to be harsh to people and judge their efforts, but this case could be one of the worst wrap applications in history. The silver-painted bodywork of the Cayenne ended up partly covered by large patches of red vinyl, which has been crumpled and sheared. Some parts like the bonnet are in a lot better condition than others, with the front bumper, doors, and roof on the other end of the spectrum.

The eye-catching SUV was spotted by Reddit user @pcbwes while being parked near a gas station in Florida. Predictably, it went viral on the Shitty_Car_Mods thread with the humorous description “Let a friend do the wrap on my Porsche”, even though the user later admitted it is not his vehicle.

Overall, the wrap looks like it was applied during a storm. In fact, it would pass as an art project for school although the responsible team wouldn’t go home with an A+. Joking aside, there is no shame in failing to complete a job, but we can’t wrap our heads around why the DIY project didn’t stop in the early stages. As noted by a Reddit commenter, one possible explanation could be that the wrap material failed after being exposed to the sun or after reacting with some kind of chemical in the car wash.

In any case, the best solution for this art piece is to be unwrapped and taken to a professional shop for proper treatment. The other option is to tear it off and let the original bodywork as it is, as this attempt at covering it has obviously gone terribly wrong.
