OK, Fess Up, Which One Of You Left This SUV Halfway Up A Tree In Mass?

Massachusetts State Police are searching for the owner and driver of this Jeep Compass that took off-roading a little too far. Sometime around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, someone spotted the white SUV on I-495 South just south of the Route 2 interchange. Nobody was with the vehicle and nobody had reported the accident.

That has left authorities with a bevy of questions like what caused the car to leave the roadway, how did it end up halfway up a tree, and is everyone okay. Both police and fire units came to the scene including a K9 that searched the area to no avail. Just after 9 a.m., authorities had cleared the scene of the vehicle, says WCVB.

The damage makes it clear that anyone who survived the accident is fortunate. Not only is it likely that the Jeep rolled to its resting position on the tree but it looks as though every single body panel suffered significant damage. All of the glass on the passenger side is broken out as it is the rear tailgate glass.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a vehicle somehow make its way far up a pole or tree. In May of 2022, a Ford Mustang driver managed to get all four of his wheels and tires off of the ground as he mounted a telephone pole.

Late last year another Massachusetts resident did something almost as wacky. He ended up somehow impaling his Volkswagen on a pole in a Walmart parking lot. We’ve heard of other Walmart parking lot pole issues but this one was unique. Of course, in each of those cases, the driver wasn’t hard to find. Here’s to hoping that everyone in that Jeep Compass at the time of the wreck is okay.
