San Francisco Police Seize 2 Corvettes And A Mustang Involved In Sideshow Shenanigans

by Brad Anderson

Police in San Francisco, California have seized two Chevrolet Corvettes and a Ford Mustang that were involved in a recent sideshow event on April 15.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the illegal gathering went down in the Mission District near Dolores and 16th streets. It is understood that authorities pounced on one of the Corvettes on April 18 at around 4 p.m. while on April 19, the second Corvette was seized in the Lakeview neighborhood.

The San Francisco Police Department took to Twitter to confirm that all three vehicles will be held for 30 days and that the registered owners will be forced to pay all storage and tow fees.

Illegal sideshows continue to be an issue throughout California and many other parts of the country. As we reported earlier today, a particularly dangerous sideshow that attracted dozens of vehicles was held on the 1000 block of Oak Street in Oakland.

During the course of the event, a silver Nissan 370Z was set alight and left to burn to a crisp. Video shared to Twitter shows the 370Z engulfed in flames before the driver of a Subaru Outback proceeds to ram into the burning sports car on multiple occasions, all while attendees at the event film and cheer the driver on. The male behind the Subaru can then be seen appearing to ditch the car on the side of the road, perhaps suggesting that it had been stolen.

Speaking with the San Francisco Chronicle, police in Oakland said they contained several vehicles in the area of the wild sideshow and are investigating the incident. At one stage, an unidentified man lit fireworks into the crowd of vehicles.
