Massachusetts police claim that a woman who crashed her Volvo station wagon into the front porch of a home in Methuen recently had been “huffing,” and “blacked out” before the accident occurred.
The woman crashed into the front of a building on Wednesday, April 12. Police responded to the call at around 1:35 p.m. and found the Volvo had run onto the porch, destroying two bikes, and causing the section of roof above it to collapse and land on the wagon, which appears to be a second-generation Volvo XC70.
The 31-year-old driver was from nearby Kingston, New Hampshire, and she was taken to hospital for evaluation. Their investigation found that the driver had lost consciousness shortly before the accident.

Police claim that the woman passed out due to “huffing,” the practice of inhaling vapor or aerosol propellant gases for the purposes of getting high, but did not specify what she was huffing.
However, she is now being summoned to appear in court to face charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs, and police say this is her second offense, meaning that she will be tried as a repeat offender. She will also be charged with marked lane violations and speeding.

Neither the condition of the woman nor the car following the accident were shared by police. The extent of the damage to the house has not been made clear either, but it appears that the vehicle was stopped before making it beyond the porch. No injuries are reported.
